How often do you need an EICR? →WHAT DO THE CODES MEAN?
- C1 — Danger Present: Risk of injury — immediate action. The electrician may disconnect supply on the day.
- C2 — Potentially Dangerous: Urgent remedial action required within 28 days.
- C3 — Improvement Recommended: Not dangerous. Does not cause a fail on its own.
- FI — Further Investigation: Something needs investigating before a verdict can be reached.
Important: An EICR is only Satisfactory if there are no C1, C2 or FI codes. Any of these = Unsatisfactory = legal obligation to act.

- Copy supplied to your tenant within 28 days
- Copy supplied to local authority within 7 days if requested
